Luminord 2026 – Lighting Design Competition Winners Announced

The 12th Luminord lighting design competition culminated in the announcement of the winners at the Sähkö–Electricity 2026 event at Messukeskus Helsinki on 15 April 2026.

The task of the competition was to design an outdoor lighting series suitable for yards and parks, combining design and technical functionality.

Winners

The LUMINORD 2026 main prize (€5,000) was awarded to Saana Tavarez and Jussi Alatalo for their work Kehrä.

The STEK special prize (€5,000) was awarded to Juho Pasila and Antti Keskinen for their work Bino.

An honorary mention was given to Matti Syrjälä for the work Curve.

The awarded works are on display at the Sähkö–Electricity 2026 event.

The winner of Luminord 2026 is Kehrä, designed by Saana Tavarez and Jussi Alatalo.

The STEK award went to Bino designed by Juho Pasila and Antti Keskinen.

Special mention for an excellent design went to Curve by Matti Syrjälä.

The competition is organized by NSS Association of Electrical Designers, Finnish Lighting Society, Electrical and Telecommunication Contractors’ Association (STUL), Electrical Trade Association, and the Electrical Engineering and Energy Efficiency Promotion Centre (STEK), in cooperation with the Association of Interior Architects (SIO) and Ornamo.
